President Message
January 2011 has dawned with a new and breathtaking development – Rajasthan winning the Ranji Trophy for the first time in 77 years. For nearly a century this has been a dream of every Rajasthani. Kudos to the boys who made it possible. They have ushered in a new era in Rajasthan cricket.
This is also the time to congratulate the RCA management team which made it possible. A number of new initiatives were introduced, mainly in the selection and coaching processes.
We can take credit for completely eliminating extraneous influences from the selection process. All performances are available on the net for everyone to see and boys and girls are judged on transparent criteria.
We would also like to congratulate the U-16 team for making it to the All-India Semi-finals, another first in the history of Rajasthan. U-19 team became Central Zone Champions in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy one day tournament, another first. So the upward movement is across all age groups and not just the Senior.
We are also focusing on Women’s cricket which is lagging behind quite badly at the moment, but we have already firmed up measures of improvement in this as well and hope that our women and girls would also match their male counterparts in the coming years.
Once again wishing you all a Happy New Year and hoping for many more laurels for Rajasthan cricket in 2011.
